My Xbox 360 died yesterday. I was having problems with the screen freezing while playing Rock Band and Ace Combat 6, and after trying the troubleshooting for the freezing thing I got the "Red Ring of Death" - which means that my 360 had a system failure.
The good news is that Microsoft will repair/replace my 360 at no charge. It even doesn't cost postage.
The bad news is that it'll take around 4 weeks.
Guess that means I gotta get back on Quake more now.
(And no Microsoft bashing in this thread please. [That means you, Foqer])

The Xbox has one of the highest system failure rates of any console in history I do believe. It's like 80% failure rate. They get too hot and basically cook themselves.

Well, I finally got my coffin (that's the nickname for the box they send you to send the Xbox in) yesterday. Packing it was actually quite simple (I did take a picture of it just for memories that I'll upload later). So today after I get some things done I'm gonna drop it off at the UPS store down the street.

Heh. The falure rate of the "old" xbox 360 was 33%. The newer one has an improved cooling design.
Some tips to keep your xbox 360 from blowing up... Keep it in an open area where it can easily breathe. There was one guy who had his in one of those entertainment centers with a glass door. The door was shut and his 360 melted.
Also buy a can of air, its like $5 at walmart in the electronics section. Occasionally blow out the fans (every 3 months or so)
