You may not know but I really like to collect stuff. I'm kind of like a pack rat (Pack Rat Rune fits me really well).
Anyway, recently I've had some awesome things happen with three of my "collections":
1 - My aunt and I went to this place called "Something Special", which is like an antique store. I walk in and immediately see a glass case full of pins marked 1/2 off (I have a very large pin collection). So I picked out 9 pins to add to the collection (I spent about $30, where I would have spent $60). Maybe I'll get a pic of my collection soon. I basically have a yard of fabric with pins from the top to the bottom.
So later on my aunt says something really cool (it seems really grotesque but I think it's a cool thought). "You know, when you have to write your will, everyone's gonna fight over your pin collection." I asked, "You think so?" And she replied, "Oh yeah, I know many of them are worth some money."
2 - When I was younger, I used to collect plush animals (I got into goats when I found a plush goat), so at a thrift store on the same day, I went ahead and walked down the toy aisle to see if anything stuck out. Well I see this big fox plush, and when I pick it up I find out it's a puppet. I buy the thing for $2, then later on I found out it's a brand name puppet. The brand is Folkmanis (I know this because I've looked at their puppets before, and always wanted a dragon one but it was always really expensive), and later find out the retail for this fox is about $35, and mine is probably worth about $25! It's in really good condition too. So I was really happy about that.
3 - Lastly, my parents started me on a Fontanini Nativity collection last Christmas. So I would go to this place near my house every month and buy a new figure or two. So the day after Thanksgiving they had one of the actual Fontanini sculptor come to sign the figures. I found out I could bring 5 figures, so I bring them (the three wise men, Caleb [my first figure], and St. Michael the Archangel were who I picked), plus I got another figure while I was there. So he signs all six. While I was there, I got an ornament for my aunt, and when I got home I found out it was chipped. I told my mom that the people there said the guy would sign as many figures as I wanted to bring, so I went back to exchange the ornament, but I took a few more figures to get signed (The Holy Family [Mary, Joseph, Jesus], Olivia [an angel with a lamb], and Alexander ) So all together I have 11 autographed figures. If it's like my pin collection, I'm sure my nativity set will be another thing that'll get fought over.
