This post will never be complete. I will be linking to various sources for tech support and tweaks as I find them. Black Viper's page (very, VERY useful) www.dead-eye.net/WinXP%20Services.htm\Another WinXP Optimization Page: mywebpages.comcast.net/SupportCD/OptimizeXP.htmlYet Another WinXP Optimization Page: arstechnica.com/guides/tweaks/sgp-tweaks.ars/1For some other handy programs in which I am far too lazy to copy all of them and explain what they do, visit this thread. This is a link to download the powerful registry cleaner: regcleaner. Over time, just by installing/uninstalling, deleting files and shortcuts, and many other actions will most likely leave bad registry entries behind. Over time, these entries will "clog" your registry and slow your PC down. It should be safe for everyone to use (be extremely careful when picking out entries to delete yourself on the startup page) Just note that the program handles different computers in different ways, so it doesn't work the same on every PC. If you accidentally remove an entry, don't worry, it creates backups in the backup section. I deleted like 40 entries I shouldn't have, including the entry Windows XP made when it was installed. However I was able to restore them from the backup. An awesome source for tech support, this forum is newbie-friendly and will help you with any technical problem you are having or tweaking you want to do to your system. I have found their website very very useful in the past and brought most of my ideas here to you from them. My nic there is stealthfighter. www.techpowerup.com/forums/

We'll talk to Nikola about changing your member status to moderator of the tech forum when we get a chance. She's the only one who can change it.

I thought Monty was going to do it. There's no rush as the admins administrate/moderate everything, but when I get mod for tech section I'll be able to closely watch people's postings and edit them accordingly for truth. I'm a forum whore, I check here at least 25 times a day

Changing members to moderators, etc. So we have to wait until Nikola gets some time before your status changes.

Since this is a never-ending thread (posting links to tweaks and such) I'll sticky it.

"Free Registry Defrag"(It will defrag + compact your registry giving you faster boot/loading times and free hard disk space) I give it a 10/10 - does its job, incredibly easy to use... APK Registry CleanerMade by Alexander Peter Kowalski "Alec§taar" Of TechPowerUp! Forums. --easy instructions for noobs-- How to use: copy the .exe and .reg files in your WINDOWS folder. Put the .reg files and the .dll file in windows/system32. Make a shortcut to the .exe to wherever. I would reccomend putting the pirority on High, and unchecking the CLASSES_ROOT box. Reccomended useing the registry defragger/compactor first.
