Back in the early 90s Ataris' last game console, the Atari Jaguar, had a hippie programmer working on it named Jeff Minter. He worked for such celebrities as Prince hooking up and orchestrating stage lighting effects for concerts and so forth.
His Virtual Light Machine for the Atari Jagur CD player was the first of its kind.
Afterwards Microsoft programmers asked him if they could use his concept for Windows Media Player.
His second generation VLM he programmed onto a small obscure system in the late 90s called the NUON.
His latest version of the VLM you can now see on the XBOX 360.
Without further adieu, here's a demonstration of the original Virtual Light Machine playing FUELS 'Hemorrhage' and MUSES 'Hysteria'.
